Fishing on Eagle Lake in Ontario Canada is world famous because of the vast and abundant fishery. You can fish 5 of your favorite sport fish, all from one destination!

Walleye Fishing on Eagle Lake

Walleye are one of the most sought after species on Eagle Lake. We have a slot size on Eagle Lake which means that all Walleye between the sizes of approx. 18.1"- 22.8"( 46 cm - 58 cm ) have to be released.

We have a trophy policy which means that although you are allowed to keep one Walleye over 22.8", we will only allow it as a trophy. Due to new technology in replicas, very few are actually kept and our fishing is as prolific now or even better than when our family started 30 years ago! There are many different techniques we use to catch Walleye on Eagle Lake and vary with the use of artificial baits and live bait techniques.    Click here for more Walleye Fishing photos at Cedar Point Lodge ...

Northern Pike Fishing on Eagle Lake

Northern Pike are very prolific in Eagle Lake and the lake produces a number of 40" plus each season. There is a slot size of approx. 27.5" - 35.5 " ( 70 cm - 90 cm ) on Northern Pike and again we have a trophy policy at Cedar Point Lodge which does not allow any Northern Pike over 35.5 " to be kept except as a trophy.

We do remove the "Y- bones " for you as we process any fish that are kept under the slot and Northern Pike are an excellent addition to any fish fry! Similar to Walleye, we use a variety of artificial and live bait techniques in catching our Northern Pike.    Click here for more Northern Fishing photos at Cedar Point Lodge ...

Smallmouth Bass Fishing on Eagle Lake

Smallmouth Bass were introduced into Eagle Lake in the early 50's and have, with strict conservation measures, flourished to become a substantial species in Eagle Lake. We have size and harvest restrictions during the year. Until July 1st, you can only keep two Smallmouth under approx. 13.75" ( 35cm ).

Smallmouth have been treated as a trophy species and most are caught and released. This has resulted in a healthy population that rivals many fisheries. Techniques used lean more towards artificial bait use but many are caught with live bait especially during mid to late season.    Click here for more Bass Fishing photos at Cedar Point Lodge ...

Muskie Fishing on Eagle Lake

Eagle Lake is famous for it's Muskie fishing and is one of the top destinations in Ontario as well as North America for this species. We have had size restrictions that have increased gradually during the past 25 years to todays 54" ( 137cm ) minimum trophy classification.

There are a number of "legal" Muskies caught each season but very few are ever kept. Muskie are protected during peak spawning and the season opens each season the 3rd Saturday in June. There are a number of different Muskie fishing organizations that rank Eagle Lake as a premier location. Techniques used again lean predominately with artificial bait use but some live bait techniques are succesful. Each season a number of 50" plus Muskie are caught by our guests while fishing for other species.    Click here for more Muskie Fishing photos at Cedar Point Lodge ...

Lake Trout Fishing on Eagle Lake

Lake Trout are found mainly in the North Central and West sections of Eagle Lake although during the spring can be caught in a larger area of the lake. Lake Trout have a reduced harvest limit as well as a season ending September 30th which protects this fall spawning species.

In the spring and fall, Lake Trout can be caught in shallow water due to cooler water temperatures using artificial baits and live bait techniques. Many of our guests will catch Lake Trout during these times while fishing for other species. As the water temperatures warm, Lake Trout are caught in areas of the lake with the deepest water as Lake Trout survive in cooler water than other species on the lake. We use a variety of trolling techniques at this time using predominately artificial baits. There are a number of "Lake Trout" lakes that can be reached from Eagle Lake either by small portages or creek access.    Click here for more Lake Trout Fishing photos at Cedar Point Lodge ...

Perch Fishing on Eagle Lake

Perch are a popular species to many of our mid-west guests and are found throughout the lake. They reach the "Jumbo" size sought after and although are not targeted as much as other species, they are a valuable species in Eagle Lake.

There are also several "Perch" lakes accesible from Eagle Lake and make for an exciting excursion. Perch are caught while fishing for other species on the lake and tackle use tends to be towards smaller weights and hook size with both artificial and live bait techniques.    Click here for more Perch Fishing photos at Cedar Point Lodge ...
